Boyfriend asked me to shave "down there"...?

So after sex my boyfriend was like, "can I make a suggestion? I don't think it's mean but you might take it the wrong way." I was like, "no. you cannot make a suggestion." So he was like, "Well I was just thinking like maybe you can shave it." I got so pissed and freaked out. Keep mind, I am neatly trimmed. I have very little trimmed hair just near the bottom. Should I shave it for him? Was it wrong of him to ask me?

I guess I'm just worried he thinks of me as like gross when seroisly... I am neatly groomed! I'm just not bald! but thanks for everyone's answers :)

he's just letting you know his preference. he even tried to word it in a way to not hurt your feelings so I don't think he meant it to be negative at all.
Shave for him, because he is the one going down on you and doesn't deserve a hairball..i'm sure he doesn't think your gross..he may have been just thrown off by the hair. If you keep it neatly trimmed he might have thought it was stubbly and stubble is a turn off.
I shave because the hair is course and it really itches. It has since I hit puberty and started getting hair down south. I find it way more comfortable than being simply neatly trimmed. A lot of guys find it very sexy. You could always try it and if you personally dislike it go back to your usual grooming techniques. My man tells me he doesn't even care if I've shaved when I freak cause there's some stubble on my legs (which bothers me personally). So your guy honestly shouldn't care as long as you're neat and not gross
i don't think he meant it negatively or to insinuate that you were gross sometimes guys are sensitive in that area and even a little down there can be like a rug burn for some guys. or maybe he likes to "go downtown" and some guys like to take it all in so to speak. it's OK if you don't want to be completely shaved just let him know it's not your style and he'll adjust.

You should't do it if you don't want to. It's your body, if he dosn't like it then bad luck..
I personaly don't like shaving compleatly bare because I don't want to look like a little girl who hasn't been through puberty yet. It also leaves a rash and gets itchy when the hair grows back, pubic hair grows very fast so there is prickly stubble the next day after shaving, which dosn't feel nice. If you want to shave you'll have to do it everyday! it's not good for your skin, and pubic hair is there for a reason.
Thank you. Finally, the voice of reason. I, personally like the look and feel of hair. Each woman's pubic hair is unique and I was always pleasantly surprised to find another different natural style. Blondes, brunettes, redheads, European, Asian, Hispanic, everybody had something different to look forward to. When dating a new girl, I couldn't wait to get her pants off just to see what special surprise was there for me. Nowadays there's no surprise-just another bald one-and after a week-stubble!

personally I am a fan of a little bit of trimmed hair. my girlfriend has the landing strip and I find it sexy as hell..but that's just me. I mean you shouldn't take it the wrong way. my girlfriend always shaved clean before and I made the suggestion for the landing strip. she had never done it before. and she didn't get mad. she did and she actually liked it. so it doesn't mean he doesn't like it. its just maybe he wants something new to look at down there. after all he is the one who has his face in that area lol. but its totally up to you if you want to do it for him or not. I mean it is just hair..it grows back
