Sexual Health Does areola/nipple size matter?

I always thought my nipples were normal, until my friend jokingly asked "what, do you have pepperoni nipples or something?" I didn't know what that meant so she asked me if my areolas are large and dark. They aren't dark in color but I'm not sure if they're big or not? What size is normal? I'm now very self conscious because she said hers are about one inch in diameter. Mine are bigger than that.

it means you have a large areola. the area around the nipple, compared to other women.

I've never measured mine, but they are probably about an inch and I am 6 feet tall.
