For casual hookups the guys should, because how should we know what size to buy? We can't have like one condom of every size with us. In a relationship or friends with benefits situation I guess you can share it between you, or think about switching BC options altogether. There are safer options than condoms and you can better get tested to eliminate that risk completly.

As far as size, if you just buy some standard Trojan, Durex, or any name brand, you should be alright. They will fit the majority of men just fine, unless he's particularly large or small. That's when the special sizes would be necessary.
