When is it okay for me to start experimenting with boys?

Going by my own experience, I was 16 and my girlfriend was 15. She had had sexual relations with one boyfriend before me, so her first experience might have been when she was 14. She was a good girl, by the way, not a slut.

When I was in 7th and 8th grades, some of the more mature girls who had already fully blossomed had boyfriends who were in high school. They were not platonic relationships. Girls tend to mature earlier than boys. The 13 and 14 year old boys their age were still kids. Those girls wanted guys who were more grown up.

Realistically, I'd say high school, age 15 or 16 is an okay age to start "experimenting". I knew many sexually active girls in 10th grade. And they were all on the pill.

Romantically it should be fine at your current age, just keep it mind that it's extremely likely to just stay as experimentation and not go any further. Sexually I'd extremely advise waiting until you're 16-18 or whatever the legal age is in your country. It means you can seek contraception and STD checks without as much judgement and you'll be more likely to act responsibly in your decisions. There's a lot of risk involved in sex, and I really don't want to come off as condescending.
