Why are you/people homosexual?

Is it really just because your attracted to the same sex or is there something that has led to you having the feelings you do? Wether it was growing up around the opposite sex, or even a relationship you had which started those feelings for you?

Not trying to delegitimize anyone's sexuality or whatever. But I just wonder if homosexuality has a legitimate cause or origin. I've noticed a lot of gay guys have single parents, or have had abusive parents. And then I've also seen someone who had one of those circumstances seduce their friend into a relationship and then they started identifying as lesbian as well. Regardless of likely never thinking they were lesbian or gay before. It was their friend who "Made them gay". I hope y'all understand and look forward to seeing your answers. The question is Why are you/people homosexual?

Opinion from years of observation. I am not a scientist. Using a male perspective.
For whatever the reasons, males are born with various degrees of psychological predisposition toward the sexuality defined by their DNA. Some are strongly, even obsessively, addictively sexual and spend decades chasing pussy for another score. Some are more moderate (I am one of these) in their sexual appetites and do not have it as a central focus and some others can be ambiguous. Both the obsessive side and the ambiguous side can be, in my opinion, mental disorders.

Homosexuality itself is a more serious mental disorder that can lead to self-destruction if it is not carefully managed. Some men are unbendingly male-sexual identifying, whether obsessively or moderate. I am this. Not hot, but still resolute. Others are subject to external influences like abusive, controlling parents, social/sexual failure in dating or direct homosexual contact and can be turned from hetero to homo. I have no brilliant conclusion here. This is just what I have seen.

I've always found men and women to be attractive.

Socially, I didn't think I was bisexual until I was in my mid-20s and it hit me very strongly that it didn't matter to me if I was with a man or woman - gender didn't matter to me.

Then thinking back I noticed I'd always felt the same sort of attraction.

I don't know if there was a "defining moment". I just know I recognized beautiful and good people growing up.

@aieeazumuib curious in what way? @notkrispy the women who did that did it by force so I did not like it at all. But sometimes I have thoughts and I am not sure if they are acceptance of what happened or my own genuine thoughts. I've only been with men.

Oh dang... Then yeah in that case I definitely think it's safe to say that those thoughts are a result of those occasions. I don't think it's trauma per-sey but it's definitely something similar if not. Maybe part of it is that your brain is just more hypervigilant now when it comes to females and that's where that "attraction" comes from. Women just no can remind you of what happened in your past. Those emotions and feelings can come back... That kind of thing.

I really don't know. I'm confused what I am. I feel like I'm way nicer to women and stand on egg shells with them. I do things and get taken advantage of at times with women. I don't know if this is because of what happened. 😕 Also both my parents wanted a boy. I was born as accident. Even till this day they treat me like a guy. Im not allowed to cry, talk about periods etc. I'm not allowed to be weak in any way or shape.

I say don't over think it. You have feelings for you husband. Focus on those and build those feelings rather than allow those other thoughts to cloud your judgement. As you build your relationship with him that doubt and confusion will go away.

Feelings and emotional including sexual attraction are societal which means they come from the Influence of something. Being that homosexuality is outside of the societal norm, means that something has to happen for them to deviate from that norm. Because such behavior is not normal. So why do you think people are homosexual, deviate from that norm to become the way that they are?
